Interesting Chicago
Read MoreThe Chicago Press Veterans Association (Chicago Press Association) was formed by reporters who met at the 1893 Columbian Exhibition. If you look close, you will see the name Anthony Berardi. Mr. Berardi, at 17, was the youngest news photographer in Chicago in 1923. He took the first authorized portrait of Al Capone. He was also one of the first, if not the first, photographers at the St. Valentines Day Massacre in 1929. His photos, shot from the hood of a truck, were some of the best and most graphic images taken that fateful day.
